Villa Bali /2

Fictitious project

Having moved to Indonesia in 2023, I was excited to enrich my portfolio with projects that represented the Bali vibe. I created two modern villa projects, designed in a style adapted to Bali that we could also find in the mediterranean and Mexico.  These two projects are fictitious and not designed to be built (see Villa Bali /1 for the first project).  The goal was to show my capacity for adaptability to all types of projects and my sensitivity to other design styles.

For this second project, I wanted something more spectacular with high ceilings, elements that bring character and personality to the house, and, above all, a lot of brightness. As this project is fictitious, I worked from plans found on the internet, which I edited to get the spaces I imagined. Because I am not an architect, you might find technical build issues but the focus of the project was the aesthetic.

For the design, although I understand that villas in Bali are typically very minimal and do not have many decorative elements, I wanted to add my personal touch and do something more unique. I decided to work with the materials we find in the construction of the island, such as polished concrete and wood while adding colorful touches and patterns, as well as many carefully selected decorative elements in order to create a warm space in which we could easily imagine ourselves on holiday.
